Get Involved

We welcome everyone interested in QGIS to join and contribute. We have two primary ways in which you can help.

Contribute Content

You can submit a Case Study, Tutorial or a Blog post for the user group website. We welcome all content focused on QGIS that is relevant for users in India. Post on our mailing list qgis-india@googlegroups.com with a brief about your idea to get started.

Volunteer for a Working Group

You can also help with the running of the user group by volunteering for one of the working groups. We have different teams working on website, content, events, outreach and more. Write to us at qgis-india@googlegroups.com with your interest area and we will connect you with other volunteers.

QGIS India User Group Logo

The QGIS India User Group logo seamlessly merges the global identity of QGIS with a strong Indian character. The bold green gradient “QGIS” lettering preserves the recognisable strength of the parent brand while evoking landscapes, environment, and geospatial depth. The stylised “Q” integrates the signature orange and green geometric forms—reimagined as a tricolour-inspired arrow—symbolising layered spatial data, analytical workflows, direction, and forward movement. The “India User Group” text, rendered in a traditional calligraphic style inspired by the forms of the Devanagari script, reinforces cultural rootedness and regional pride. The subtle tricolour underline echoes the Indian national flag, representing diversity, inclusivity, collaboration, and community spirit. Together, these elements express the convergence of open-source geospatial innovation and India’s vibrant, grassroots geospatial community.

The logo was designed by Ark Arjun. A high-resolution version of the logo is available for download from Wikimedia Commons.
